Georgia Tech beats UNC, 4-0

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets beat North Carolina Tar Heels 35-28. Georgia Tech is now 4-0; first time the Yellow Jackets started the season 4-0 since 1990.

After beating two small schools and beating Kansas, Georgia Tech went to work and took care of UNC. The Yellow Jackets started this season with a sophomore quarterback name Tevin Washington.

Wide Receiver Stephen Hill had a big game. He had 6 receptions for 151 yards with 1 touchdown. Quarterback Tevin Washington who scored the winning touchdown late in the game also had a big game. Tevin Washington was 10-14, for 184 yards with 1 touchdown. The Tar Heels got on the board first when Giovani Bernard scored a 4 yard touchdown run. Georgia Tech got the ball next and marched down the field. Georgia Tech ended the drive on a Justin Moore's 40 yard field goal.

In the 2nd quarter the Yellow Jackets scored twice; Stephen Hill caught a 59 yard touchdown pass from Tevin Washington to give the Yellow Jackets the lead.

Then later in the quarter,after the Yellow Jackets intercepted a Bryn Renner pass, Roddy Jones scored on a 2 yard run. Yellow Jackets now lead 17-7.

In the 3rd quarter, Georgia Tech scored twice, one was Justin Moore's 36 yard field goal. North Carolina came back with a Nelson Hurst 6 yard touchdown reception. North Carolina would not give up. Georgia Tech got another touchdown by Tevin Washington 1 yard touchdown run. Georgia Tech defense did have problems against the Tar Heels offense.

In the 4th quarter, North Carolina came back to tie the game. Early in the 4th quarter Tar Heels got a 20 yard touchdown pass from Bryn Renner to Eric Ebron to pull within 7. Then later after the Yellow Jackets couldn't move down the field, the Tar Heels came back to tie the game. Giovani Bernard tied the game on a 55 yard touchdown run. Georgia Tech came back marching down the field late in the game. Tevin Washington rushed for 15 yards during the drive. Roddy Jones also rushed for 48 yards on one carry during the drive. Tevin Washington scored on 5 yard touchdown run to take the lead.

Georgia Tech stopped the Tar Heels and Georgia Tech won, they also got their first ACC win. Next week Georgia Tech will be facing NC State in Raleigh.

Georgia Tech is in 1st place in the Coastal division; the Yellow Jackets needed to start the season on a high note.
