Who will Win the Big Ten? Wisconsin?

By Kavin Caruso

This season will be a whole new look for the Big 10. With Nebraska joining the conference, it will make the Big 10 a stronger conference. Last season Wisconsin and Ohio State slugged it out, Wisconsin was the winner. This year the Badgers have a new quarterback name Russell Wilson. Former NC State Wolf Pack quarterback, he will be a senior on this football team.

Wisconsin is hoping to make a run for the National Championship with Russell Wilson. The Wisconsin Badgers are predicted to finish 1st in their new division;the Leaders, still don't like that name. Montee Ball will be back at running back, also James White will be the other running back that will be a big contributor in the offense. Nick Toon will be back at wide receiver, Wilson will need him for sure.

Ohio State is predicted to finish 2nd in the Leader division. You know what? I think Ohio St will finish last or next to last. I will be surprise if the Buckeyes win at least 7 games. With no Jim Tressel at head coach, and no Terrell Pryor at qb, this team won't do much.

Penn State will have Joe Paterno once again, man he's getting old! He's still can coach, he still has his receiver Derek Moye and his quarterback Matthew McGloin. Penn State does play Wisconsin in Madison on November 26, which could be deciding factor for who would win the division. Penn State doesn't play the Wolverines of Michigan this year, but they do play Nebraska and Alabama.

Iowa who was running for the Big 10 title with 1 loss then got upset by the Badgers in Iowa City will try again to win. They will have Ricky Stanzi at quarterback, Adam Robinson at running back, and Derrell Johnson-Koulianos at receiver. Iowa Hawkeyes do play well at home, Michigan will be one of their home opponents; that's one of the teams that play well at Iowa City.

I still see Purdue still competing but I don't expect much from them. Purdue Boilmakers have a quarterback name Rob Henry, coach Danny Hope will once again try to put Purdue on the map.Cortez Smith will be back at wide receiver, and Dan Dierking will be back at fullback. Purdue haven't had a winning season since 2007 when Joe Tiller was the head coach.

Lets see, oh yeah, the Northwestern Wildcats. The Wildcats last season went 7-6, went to the TicketCity Bowl and still beat Iowa to maintain a .500 season. Pat Fitzgerald will be in his 7th season as head coach at Northwestern will try to keep the Wildcats in the hunt of the Big Ten. Dan Persa will be back at quarterback for the Wildcats, also Mike Trumpy will be back at running back.

Last season the Wildcats got spanked by the Badgers in Madison 70- 23. That was the most points given up by the Wildcats. This year's squad doesn't face the Wisconsin Badgers. But they face Michigan, Iowa, and Penn State.

So the question remains, who will win the Big 10? I still hope the Badgers will win it all. We'll see in the next coming months.
